National Parks and Islands of Dalmatia

We invite you to spend a week on a ship cruising between the mainland and the islands. Good cuisine, an open minded crew and knowledgeable tour guides are expecting you. We visit two National Parks and the islands of Central Dalmatia, starting from Trogir. Highlights include UNESCO protected old town of Trogir, Primošten, Šibenik with its famous cathedral, Zadar, National Park Krka-waterfalls and Kornati Islands. On a romantic motor yacht, our floating accommodation, we discover the charm of the Adriatic in our own special way.

    1. Trogir - Rogoznica
Individual arrival to Trogir. After checking in on the motor yacht (between 2 and 2.30 pm) departure around 3 pm. Enjoy the fresh breeze during the crossing to Rogoznica, a village on a small island that is connected to the mainland by a dam. Here we spend our first night.

    2. Rogoznica - Primošten - Šibenik - Skradin (20 km)
In the morning we cycle from Rogoznica to Primošten. From there the boat takes us to the city of Šibenik to the spot where the Krka River flows into the Adriatic Sea. After visiting the famous cathedral and the lovely old town we set off again. On the cruise we pass the lower course of the river Krka following the river bend until we reach Skradin. In the port of the village we spend our night.

    3. Skradin - Krka National Park Vodice (36 km)
The charming port of Skradin is the starting point for today’s excursion by boat and on foot to the most famous part of the Krka National Park with its unique, thundering waterfalls. After our excursion through this lush green wonderland, we enjoy lunch before setting off on our bicycles from Skradin to the well-known holiday town of Vodice. The boat will await our arrival and we will spend the night in Vodice.

    4. Vodice - Island of Murter - Nature Park Telašćica (25 km)
In the morning we cycle from Vodice to Murter Island that is connected to the mainland by the lift bridge at Tisno. We pass the bridge and cycle along the water front, passing by two very old coastal villages, until we reach a small landing place from where the boat takes us on a cruise through the National Park Kornati, an archipelago in crystal clear water which is known for its rich aquatic realm. Our destination is the Nature Park Telašćica. In the evening a walk through the park leads us along the stunning cliffs of the island. A salt lake and a family of donkey also characterise the nature park and make for a wonderful location to spend a quiet night.

    5. Island of Dugi Otok - Zadar (28 km)
After breakfast we start our bike tour from the Telašćica Nature Park, along a virtually traffic-free, panoramic road across the island. During the ride we are treated to countless unforgettable views of neighbouring islands, breaking through the deep blue sea. We meet the ship in Savar and board for a crossing to the city of Zadar. Once we arrive, there is the opportunity to take part in a walking tour during which you will find out all about this fascinating city while strolling through the winding alleys and the lively old town.

    6. Zadar - Islands of Ugljan and Pašman - Primosten (33 km)
During breakfast the boat crosses to the island of Ugljan at the channel of Zadar. Today we have a lot of time to explore both of the islands Ugljan and Pašman by bicycle. They have been connected by a bridge. We cycle along the East Coast, always with beautiful views to the mainland and the ocean. After our bike tour, we sail back to the city of Primosten on the mainland. Here we can enjoy some time swimming and exploring the quaint seaside village. The night is spent in Primosten.

    7. Primosten - Island of Solta - Trogir (15 km)
In the morning our motor yacht takes us to the island of Šolta. Olive and fig trees and farmland surround the streets. The spicy smell of rosemary will follow us throughout the whole tour around the silent island until we reach the village Grohote. During mid day our last cruise takes us back to Trogir. Here we have enough time to visit the world cultural heritage old town. After dinner it is time to say good bye to crew and travel guides.

    8. Trogir
End of services around 9 am after breakfast.

Due to organisational reasons, weather conditions or provisions issued by local authorities, the itinerary may be subject to some changes before and/or during the holiday. Issues with high and low water, as well as logistic obstacles such as officially ordered - previously not announced - repair work on locks or bridges can modify some of the daily stretches or overnight stays and may even request a transfer by bus. These decisions are only taken by the barge’s captain.

  • Route profile

The bike routes require a basic level of fitness, which you should have acquired by occasional or daily cycling. The routes can reach an altitude of 328 ft. to 985 ft./100 to 300 meters. The daily routes of 9 to 22 mi./15 to 50 km cover hilly terrain. You will also come across some rather steep climbs, where walking your bike is of course permitted. The roads are mostly asphalted and there is little traffic outside of holiday periods.
