    map

    1. Bolzano
Individual arrival and overnight. Located along the Isarco river, bilingual Bolzano has always been at the crossroads between the Mediterranean and central Europe. Today it is an important commercial and tourist city, whose charming centre is dotted with colourful houses in typical Tyrolean style.

    2. Resia Pass – Silandro/surroundings (50 km)
We will drive you to Resia up to 1,500 metres of height, where your cycling tour starts. The majestic cycle lane will take you past the lake Resia with its amazing church tower and the cloister of Montemaria. Further, you will pass through the hamlets Clusio, Glorenza (Italy’s smallest walled town) and Lasa (famous for its marble), until you reach Silandro.

    3. Silandro/surroundings – Merano (35 km)
The tour continues along the river Adige, passing through orchards and nice landmarks like the imposing castle Dornsberg. Finally, you will arrive in beautiful Merano, the second biggest town of South Tyrol: take a walk in its lovely city centre and don’t miss its famous thermal baths.

    4. Merano – Bolzano/surroundings (35/40 Km)
Cycling on cycle paths and secondary roads you will reach the confluence of the rivers Isarco and Adige. Along the way you will admire the biggest apple plantation in Europe and in Lana you can even visit the apple museum.

    5. Bolzano/surroundings – Trento (70/65 Km)
You will start riding along the River Adige cycle path, through orchards and the vineyards of the renowned Wine Route. Half way between Bolzano and Trento you will reach Salorno, which represents the linguistic border between the German and the Italian world. It is possible to shorten the stage by taking the train in several train stations along the way.

    6. Trento – Garda Lake (50 km)
The river Adige will take you to Rovereto, famous for its museum of modern and contemporary art. After a short ascent to Passo di San Giovanni, you will enjoy a superb view over the Garda Lake, before starting your (well deserved) descent to the lake shore.

    7. Garda Lake
Free day at Lake Garda, a unique location where mountain traditions meet the Mediterranean warmth. The perfect spot to end your cycling trip: you can unwind swimming in the lake or strolling along the lakeside promenades of the small towns at the northern tip of the lake, such as Limone or Malcesine. Don’t miss a visit to Riva del Garda, an enchanting town that climbs the rugged cliffs, and reach the fortress of ‘Il Bastione’ with a panoramic lift.

    8. Garda Lake
    After breakfast, end of services.

Pleasant, not too strenuous way to visit some nice towns. Nice variety of eating houses en route and at destinations, nicely chosen hotels, always peaceful during nighttime and good breakfasts. Downside: Luggage arrival 17.30 and even later is uncomfortable. Returning to Bolzano midjourney might be better avoided

      Departure 02-08 September 2020

      Online from 23 September 2020

Bel giro!

      Hi
This is an entry for the photo competition. I took it on the Resia Pass to Mantua tour on 3rd July.
We had a wonderful trip. The scenery was amazing and the hotels comfortable and convenient.
      Thanks for a great holiday.

      Hello Maddalena,

We came back yesterday from Italy and I wanted to let you know that we have really appreciated our experience. We loved the landscapes and the fact that the route was mostly on cycling path. It was perfect for our big group with a lot of children. The bikes were great and the indications were very clear. It was an almost stress-free experience (except for little parts were we got lost). I wanted to thank you for helping us in organizing that trip, you were always helpful and prompt to answer my emails and it was very appreciated.

Thank you and hoping to do another Girolibero bike trip in the future!
